LABELING REQUIREMENTS FOR TEXTILES AND ACCESORIES MADE FROM TEXTILE

Labeling information required for merchandise manufactured with textile fibers. This includes wearing apparel andaccessories.

INFORMATION.

1. Commercial Brand name.

2. Fabric percentage content must be specified in order of
Predominance also garment lining must be noted on label.

3. Size.

4. Care instructions must be written in Spanish. International care symbols are allowed.

5. Country of origin.

6. When the fabric, yarn, and lining come from a different country of origin than the finalproduct, in the label must be written the following: “Made of imported fabric...” (“ Hecho de tela importada de. . .”) or “Made of imported yarn ” (“ Hecho de hilo importado de “).

7. Importers contact information.

8. Tax I.D. number. (tax payer registration number)

LABEL USE CONDITIONS

Specifications.

*The commercial brand name or the registered Trade Mark of a fiber may be useonly if fabric generic name is used together in conjunction with the registered trademark and is the same side (i.e. Lycra/Elastano).

*Washing directions:
- wearing apparel, accessories and loungewear must have written the following information on the label through clear legends or symbols:
- Drying.
- Bleaching.
- Washing.
- Ironing.
- Avoiding shrinkdirections

*Country of Origin
- When the product and the fabric are made in the same country, the label must read “Hecho en . . .”

- When the product is made in one country and the fabric content is made in other country, the label must read “Hecho en . . . con tela importada . . .”

- When the product was made in two or more different countries, at least the last twocountries must be stated on the label, such as “ Cortado en . . . y terminado en . . . con tela importada . . . “.

*Labels must be visible and legible.

*The information must be written on Spanish.

*Labels must be sewn on garment.

*If it is impossible to sew the label on the same textile product, care instructions must be written on the package. (i.e. pantyhose, tights, knee-highs...
