Due to employer’s constant talent hunting, some students have the opportunity to work part time meanwhile doingtheir studies. A part time job may be seen by most students as a good decision to make, especially because having experience in a job may give you real life experience and in the long term it couldbecome in a better preparation even better than just studying. That is what many students think. But a student may wonder; what is the best choice a student can make when deciding whether to work parttime or instead to dedicate themselves fully to their studies?
Statement 1 – time
There are a few consideration students should take on account before making this kind of choice. First the fallhaving a part time job will result in less time available for dedicating to their studies. For instance, they will have less time for doing the homework, for preparing adequately to test challenges andthis will be translated in an overall lower performance at school.
Statement 2 – priority change
The second thing the student should take on account is that when students start working they start alsoearning money and it could occur that this first contacts with earned money brings as consequence a desire for more money and the student could start thinking it would be better to pursue a moreprofitable career than to dedicating to his studies which often it results in less effort the student put at school. There have been extreme cases in where some students dropped totally school. In shortterm it could be seen by a student as a very good opportunity to earn money and real life experience which may result an advantage over their fellows but, in the long term, this could result be asubsequent drawback because without adequate preparation, in the long term, the person will have less opportunity in life and also he will earn less money and all this because the student didn’t finish...
