Our aim is to produce a mineral sunblock, to protect from ultra violet radiation and prevent skin cancer.

Ultra violet (UV) light is invisible to our eyes, and has higher energy than visible light. The effects of UV radiation on human health and environmentcould be positive as well as negative.
Sunlight exposure is linked to skin cancer, more consequently if we do not use sunblock protection.
Sun lotions are supposed to protect the skin from harmful UVradiation.

Glass container
½ cup of olive oil
¼ cup of coconut oil
¼ cup of beeswax
2 tablespoons of zinc oxide
A stove
A little pot
A tablespoon
PROCEDURE:
1.Take the pot and fill it with water.
2. Take the pot with water and let the water boil, then melt the beeswax in glass container in Bain Marie.
3. Mix the olive oil, coconut oil and beeswaxin the glass container.
4. When the water is already boiled, put the glass container again with the mixture in water bath (Bain Marie) to be heated to melt.
5. When all the substances are completelymelted and combined, add the 2 tablespoons of zinc oxide; and continue mixing.
6. Once you’ve formed a viscous substance but without being too thick, you can remove from the heat.
7. Let it restfor a day before you start using it.

We observed that all the materials were melted and integrated with the heat.
We also observed, once thewater began to boil, the mixture produced bubbles.

We were able to produce a sunblock by using natural ingredients, adding proper quantities and ensure a natural sunblock to protect against UVradiation.
CONCLUSIONS:
The saffest sunblocks are those with the same types of natural ingredients that you would want in any other skin product. Nourishing oils like coconut, shea butter, jojoba or...
