Historic BackgroundThe Indian subcontinent is the siteof a civilization as ancient as any in the world. We can start with Indian culture and beliefs. Hinduism developed out of a multiplicity of local gods, goddesses, and heroes. Multiplicity remained a major feature of Hinduism, now is "Indian general culture". Their main beliefs arose that all these gods were manifestation of the One- Brahma. The physical world in all its variety was seen as adream of Brahma; They trust in a cycle idea , which reflects cycles of seasons and fertility. The human soul, which is eternal, is reborn, or reincarnated. The actions of the individual in this life accumulate as karma, which affects the status one will achieve in the next life. The ultimate goal is maksha, or the achievement of spiritual perfection which will enable the soul to achieve releasefrom the wheel of life, and attain oneness with Brahma. The political map of ancient and medieval India was made up of myriad kingdoms with fluctuating boundaries. At the height of the Roman Empire under Emperor Hadrian during the 2nd century C.E., the Kushan Empire, originating in ancient Bactria, conquered north India and the trans-Indus region ushering in a period of trade and prosperity. In the4th and 5th centuries C.E., northern India was unified under the Gupta Dynasty. During this period, known as India's Golden Age, Hindu culture and political administration reached new heights.Islam spread across the subcontinent over a period of 700 years. In the 10th and 11th centuries, Turks and Afghans invaded India and established the Delhi Sultanate. One of the most important historic event inIndia was the gain of Kashmir territory. The British rule over Jammu and Kashmir terminated in 1947. During partition, the Kashmiri population – the majority of whom is Muslim – was promised a choice of joining either India or Pakistan through a popular vote but this plebiscite never took place. Instead, partition was the start of a long history of conflict affecting the roughly 8 millioninhabitants of Kashmir [1]. Both India and Pakistan have made control of a unified Kashmir an essential cornerstone of their national identities and have fought several wars between 1947 and 2002 on this issue. The ceasefire line between Pakistan and India, named the "Line of Control" in 1972, still exists today, separating this territory of around 2.2 million square km into three parts. India controlsthe largest part, with the rest governed by Pakistan and China [1].*One of the most disastrous and "log-live" conflict in India is Kashmir's "membership of territory". India and Pakistan have made control of a unified Kashmir an essential cornerstone of their national identities and have fought several wars between 1947 and 2002 on this issue; So they decided to separate Kashmir in 3 parts, todayIndia controls the largest part, with the rest governed by Pakistan and China. So far now, India is one of the most important countries in economics and business, although is one of the most conflictive and poor countries too. Indians change and advance although their few possibilities and opportunities has been overwallming. |
