Resumen

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, de campo, documental no probabilístico intencional a 115 pacientes, con el propósito de determinar el agente etiológico más frecuente en infección urinaria recurrente en embarazadas 1º y 3º trimestre, consulta de alto riesgo obstétrico Hospital "Dr. Pedro Emilio Carrillo" Valera Estado Trujillo durante periodo julio 2009 a julio 2010. Losresultados Se encontró que la edad predominante en las pacientes embarazadas con infección urinaria recurrente se encuentra en el grupo de 19-23 años de edad en 42 de ellas para un 36,52%, El nivel educativo es la diversificada completa en 38 pacientes para un 33,04 %. La ocupación con mayor número fue estudiante en 53 pacientes para un 46,09%. La procedencia fue la urbana en 68 pacientes con59,13%. El trimestre de embarazo con mayor número es el tercero con 83 pacientes para un 72,17%. El número de embarazos anteriores con infección urinaria que predominó fueron 2 y 3 embarazos con 41 pacientes cada uno para un 35,65%. Solo 82 de ellas manifestaron haber tenido episodios de infección en el tracto urinario; les fue indicado tratamiento antibiótico, Amino/Penicilina (Ampicilina/Sulbactam).La frecuencia de infección urinaria durante el actual embarazo fue tres en 24 pacientes para un 29,27%. Dentro los antecedentes de importancia están las infecciones vaginales en 82 de ellas a quienes les realizaron urocultivos. El microorganismo aislado fue Escherichia coli. Las infecciones urinarias deben ser tratarlas adecuadamente que permitan evitar la recurrencia, ingresos hospitalarios delas pacientes embarazadas y las complicaciones materno-fetales.

ABSTRACT
