London is the capital of Great Britain, is the biggest city of Europe with 7.556.905 inhabitants and, among the world’s most populous cities, is one of the world’s major financial and cultural capitals.
History
The charm of this beautiful city derives from its rich history:

She tried to solve the problem of the split of the Church by establishing the independent Anglican Church.
Industrial Revolution: the growing industry and the different railroad that connectedLondon to other cities, made the kingdom the largest industrialized country of the world, with an internal free trade. On the occasion of the Great Exhibition of 1815, the famous Crystal Palace was build in Hyde Park: it was made out of iron and glass but it doesn’t stand there anymore.
Nowadays: the decline of the city starts after the destruction caused by the Second World War, in fact Englandloses her colonies. Nowadays there is still poverty and a lot of homeless people, but a feeling of optimism and motivation animate the whole city.

Economy
The economy of the city is based on services such as banks, insurances and commerce. The per capita income is the highest of Europe and unemployment is quite low. Together with New York and Tokyo, London is one of the three most importantStock Exchange of the world.
The third economic sector is tourism.

London’s means of transport are real national symbols and for this reason they are recognized all over the world.
Moving in the city is very easy because London is the seat of the most ancient system of underground of the world, the London Underground, which is carefully controlled to avoid accidents andterrorist attacks. There are also 8.000 buses provided with a reduced flatcar for the disabled, there are the famous “black cab” and finally there is the bicycle, very boosted by institutions.

The climate is influenced by the Gulf Stream and so summers are cool and winters are long but not toocold.
