IP Addressing
What’s IP Addressing?
It stands for Internet Protocol address. It is an address that identifies a computer on a network such as the Internet.
There are two types of logical addressing static anddynamic
Static refers to the address that is changed manually and don’t change over time
The dynamic refers to the address that changes automatically for a period of time

Example of IP addressing
Why was it Developed?

If there were only two computers networked together computer one would just send data to computer 2, but the reality is that as years pass there are more machines andthere was the need to give each of them an unique address.
That's when the Internet Protocol was invented (also known as IP)

Where can we find IP addressing?

As you can see in the image shown we can see the OSI Model and it’s layers. Addressing works on the third layer known as the Network Layer.

IP Addressing versions
There are two Ip versions
IPV4 and IP6
The difference is thateach define the IP address differently.
What is IPv4?
As you can see it is the fourth version developed, but it was the first that spread widely. It is also a 32 bit number that it is broken down into four groups of 8 bits. Between the numbers 0 and 255 and are separated by a dot.
