Industrial engineeringIndustrial engineering is the branch of engineering responsible for analyzing, designing, understanding, scheduling and controlling production systems with the interest to manage, deploy and setoptimization strategies in order to achieve maximum performance of services. Industrial engineering is an indispensable tool for the proper functioning of the companies as this can work with people management,process optimization, also deals with designing new prototypes to save money and make them better.
The origin of industrial engineering can not be confused with the development of the industrialrevolution, because since the beginning of modern cities that man was put in direct contact with the workshops and companies were forced to develop analytical methods and has venture with new methods forthe improvement of these companies. The industrial engineering techniques began to surge in the United States at the beginning of the past centuries and today have spread by most nations around theworld, to interact directly with the development and competition of peoples.
Henry Fayol is considered one of the fathers of industrial engineering, a mining engineer who made major contributions tothe various administrative levels. Mr. Henry Fayol divided the industrial and commercial operations in six groups: technical, commercial, financial, administrative, security and accounting.
Anengineer can excel in manufacturing and services, developed in areas such as: the production area, the area of finance, implementation of processes, plant engineering, process engineer, marketing, humanresources, quality assurance, safety, hygiene and ergonomics.
