When you purchase a piece of Terex® equipment, there are probably hundreds of team members and multiple internal processes involved to ensure you receive the right machine when it is needed. Workingbehind the scenes to help enhance product design, manufacture, quality and shipment is the Terex Business System (TBS). Formed in 2005, TBS is a customer-driven process created to deliver continuous improvement in the quality, speed and simplicity of the Terex model. The goal is to create a common approach to our manufacturing and business strategies, so Terex is more flexible and can shorten theequipment’s order-to-customer-receipt time. TBS reaches beyond design and manufacturing to work with Human Resources, ensuring we have the best people working to achieve optimum results. We delve into our method for doing things, analyze if we need to do it that way and make sure changes are made to ensure that the best practice is documented and adopted. The system has helped to streamline the waythe Oklahoma City facility makes Terex® Reclaimer/Stabilizers. Our four RS models share a single, mixed-model production line along with material transfer/placers and landfill compactors. This change allows Terex Roadbuilding to quickly produce RS machines and offers a consistent and steady rate of production. We also collect customer feedback to ensure a product, component or part is received inthe condition it is expected. Recent comments have led us to shrink-wrap certain components for weather resistance, so they are received by the customer in factory condition. By providing a uniform foundation for all business segments to operate, TBS allows Terex to achieve the mission of delighting our current and future customers with value-added offerings that exceed their current and futureneeds.
