TEST RIG SCKETCHES

Introduction

All the information there are in this work has been collected from internet, libraries, textbooks, catalogues, and other sources. The purpose of this work is to communicate explaining the mechanics, missing data and issues can appear in an engineering drawing. The engineering drawing shows two Pulleys and a V-Belt assembled to a MDF wall.

Whichkind of Pulleys are they? Is the V-Belt the correct size? How the pulleys are fixed and to what? Is any wrong in this sketch? This work provide all the necessary information and other that will appear.

You will find the following herein.

* V-Belts and Pulleys information.

* Engineering formulas.

* Other useful information (bolts, spacers, bearings, etc).

* Tensioning.* Estimate price

* Sketches.

* CAD Drawings.

Interpretation of the sketch
This sketch shows two V-Belt pulleys which are fixed by two bolts to a MDF 25mm thick wall. There is a space between the pulleys and the MDF to leave pulleys to spin free andeach pulley has a bearing fixed. Also there is a V-Belt which connects the two pulleys.

The only measure there is in the sketch, is the thick of the MDF piece which is 25mm. There are several notes added to each pulley and one between centres, but they don’t say anything about whether they are mm or imperial?
