We use the Present Perfect to say that an action happened at an unspecified time before now. The exact time is not important. You CANNOT use the Present Perfect with specific time expressions such as: yesterday, one year ago, last week, when I was a child, when I lived in Japan, at that moment, that day, one day, etc. We CAN use the Present Perfect with unspecific expressions such as: ever,never, once, many times, several times, before, so far, already, yet, etc.

We used to talk about an action or situation that began in the pastand continues
Used How long? (Cuántotiempo ...?) in questions related with the duration and for (durante) or since (desde) for answers.

 I've worked here for twelve months (for twenty years, etc).
   He trabajado aquí durante doce meses (durante veinte años, etc)

used in affirmative sentences and usually placed between have/has and the past participle  Structure

 I've already had lunch.
Ya hetenido el almuerzo
He has already Bought the milk
El ya ha comprador la leche
We've already had our breakfast.
Ya hemos tenido nuestro desayuno
* I have already had a swim in my swimming-pool.
Ya he tenido un baño en mi piscina

    You can also use the present perfect with yet (aún, todavía): Yet is used only in questions and negative sentences. It shows that the speaker is expectingsomething to happen.
