COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS A. COUNTABLE NOUNS Countable nouns are things we can count.
Example: one pear two pears three pears
Countable nouns can be singular or plural.

Apples are delicious. (General) B. UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
Uncountable nouns are concepts, materials, substances, etc. that are not individual objects, so we can not count them. Uncountable nouns are always singular. Examples:
Jelly
I’m eating jelly. (Specific) Jelly is my favorite dessert. (General)
Chicken
I’m eating chicken.(Specific) Chicken is delicious. (General)

The words some and any are used for countable and uncountable nouns. In general, we use some in affirmative sentences. And we use any in negative sentences or questions. Examples: Do we need any bread for breakfast?
Yes, let’s get some.

Yes, we need some.
No, I don’t want any oranges in the salad.
