1. Incapacitation: "as long as we have you locked up, you won't be out doing something to us." This theory explains that as long as someone is in jail, they won't hurt anyone. It affectsthe crime rate because that is not necessarily true there is also crime inside the jails.
2. The rehabilitation philosophy of punishment is rehabilitating you so you so you can learn from yourmistakes and maybe learn a skill so you can be ready to go out to society; drug court could be an example of this.
3. Personally, I think vengeance should be accepted as punishment. I wouldn't leave thingsto be punished later or maybe not punished at all.

11. I don't think capital punishment would deter crime. Maybe it would minimize certain crimes if the capital punishment was the punishment, butnot stop it completely.
