Enterprising teens!
Some enterprising Mexican teens are raising money for a beach hut. They need to raise over 1,000 dollars before they can build the hut.
Jorge and Sofía, who are organizing thecampaign, are both surfers and they spend a lot of their free time on the beach. "One of the problems we have is that there is no place to leave our equipment. If we had a hut, we would leave theboards there. We wouldn't have to take them home," they explained.
"What else would you do if you had the hut?" We asked. "We would organize surfing classes. We would be able to have social events andparties, too."
They haven't gotten government permision yet, but they are meeting the local planning officer tomorrow.
"If young people had a place to hang out at the beach, a lot of them would useit," the officer said. "I think that would keep some people out of trouble."
Businesses, schools and parents in the area support the initiative. Local businesswoman Lola Dominguín said, "If there was aplace on the beach for young people, more of them would start doing water sports.










¡Adolescentes emprendedores!
Algunos jóvenes emprendedores mexicanos están recaudando dineropara una cabaña de playa. Ellos necesitan recaudar más de 1.000 dólares antes de que puedan construir la cabaña.
Jorge y Sofía, que está organizando la campaña, son los dos surfistas y pasan mucho de sutiempo libre en la playa. "Uno de los problemas que tenemos es que no hay lugar para salir de nuestro equipo. Si tuviéramos una cabaña, nos volveríamos a dejar las juntas allí. Nosotros no tendríaque llevar a casa", explicaron.
"¿Qué más se puede hacer si tuvieras la cabaña?" Le preguntamos. "Nos gustaría organizar clases de surf. Podríamos tener eventos sociales y fiestas, también."
No hanrecibido consentimiento por el gobierno, sin embargo, sino que están cumpliendo el oficial local de planificación mañana.
