At the moment of ejaculation a male can ejaculate up to 300,000 sperms. But only 0.01% survives after leaving the penis. This is a reason why only one out of three healthy women becomes pregnant inthe first try. A single sperm penetrates the mother's egg cell, and the resulting cell is called a zygote.
The zygote contains all of the genetic information necessary to become a child. Half of thegenetic information comes from the mother’s egg and half from the father’s sperm. The zygote spends the next few days traveling down the Fallopian tube and divides into a trillion more cells. At weekfour an embryo is no bigger than a grain of rice and begins to develop the spinal cord and heart. By day twentieth the spine is fully developed, by day twenty-third the heart, and by day twenty-fifththe face and the ears begin to move from the shoulders to the head.
At week six through seven the embryo develops arms and legs. Arms developing first and faster due to the simple reason that theyare going to be used first. At week eight the embryo is finally recognized as a fetus and is only the size of a walnut and is beginning to develop all the major organs, such as: the stomach,intestines, lungs, etc. As the baby grows the internal organs have to move to make room for the baby’s full development.
After nine long months, the fetus now a baby is ready to leave its safe place and meetthe new mommy from a different view. Contractions begin each time stronger and when in labor the mother depending on the amount of pain she is feeling can receive an epidural. This is the most commonpain reliever during labor. After several hours in labor the mother is ready to “get it over with” and meet the baby. The pelvis will open about 33% and the baby will come out through the birth canaldownwards (head first), he then will twister his body almost like a screw driver and the head becomes cone shaped to fit through the birth canal.
