3. El condicional 3 (3rd conditional) se usa para hablar de situaciones ireales en el pasado y los resultados imaginados.

Se forma

If + past perfect simple*/continuous** +would/could/might + have + past participle

* subject + had + past participle
** subject + had + been + present participle 

Examples 

If I'd passed my driving test, I would have bought a car. Si hubiera aprobado mi examen de conducir, habria comprado un coche.

If you'd been listening, you might have understood the instructions. Si hubieras estado escuchando, tal vez habrias comprendido lasintrucciones.

You might have been able to go to the concert, if you'd tried to get the tickets last month. Tal vez habrias podido ir al concierto, si hubieras intentado comprar las entradas el mes pasado.

What would you have done if you had been in the same situation? Que habrias hecho si hubieras estado en la misma situación?

Tips (consejos)

The contracted forms of had and would look thesame:
subject + had = 'd example I'd, you'd, he'd, she'd, it'd, we'd and they'd
subject + would = 'd example I'd you'd, he'd, she'd, it'd, we'd and they'd

had not = hadn't
would not have = wouldn't have
could not have = couldn't have

Separate the two clauses with a comma. If we had seen seen you, we would have said something.

The if clause can go at the beginning or end of thesentence.

8. Se usa ‘reported speech’ or ‘indirect speech’ (el estilo indirecto) para decir lo que alguien ha dicho. El verbo en ‘reported speech’ casi siempre cambia a un tiempo atrás: 

1. Present simple – Past simple 
Ejemplo:
I live here. 
En reported speech - She said that she livedthere 

2. Present continuous – Past continuous 
Ejemplo: 
He is driving a car. 
En reported speech - She said that he was driving a car. 

3. Present perfect – past perfect 
Ejemplo: 
They have gone to the beach. 
En reported speech - He said that they had gone to the beach. 

4. Present perfect continuous – past perfect continuous
