APPLICATIONS OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN ELT I VIDEO

Characteristics of the class:
Age:Late teens andup.
Level of English: Basic to pre-intermediate.
Previous Knowledge: Verb to be in present and past tense and vocabulary.

Main objective:
At the end of the class studentswill be able to produce sentences orally and in written form using the present continuous to describe activities that are happening in the moment of speaking.

ProcedurePre-activity

Teacher will ask students for five volunteers. Then teacher will take them aside to explain them the pre-activity. e.g. Teacher- each one is going to do adifferent action. While one of you is doing the action I will ask your peers… What is he/she doing?
Then teacher will ask students to pay attention and say the action that eachvolunteer is performing. After the activity teacher will ask students about the tense e.g. What tense were we using? After that the teacher will explain them the gramaticalstructure. E.g. The present continuous is formed by using a subject plus a form of the verb to be (am/is/are) plus a verb with ing (running, swimming, playing, etc). The teacher willalso explain to them when it is used. E.g. The present continuous is used when actions are going on in the moment of speaking.
While-activity
Students watch the video two times.Post-activity
Teacher will ask students to write ten sentences about what the people around them are doing or things that are happening in that moment. Teacher willemphasize them that they can do the homework in any place e.g. at the park, at their house, at the street or in anyplace they want. E.g. At my house, my mom is cooking spaghetti.
