II.2 A clothing catalogue
In this activity you will identify clothingmaterials, and you will de-sing a simple catalogue.
1. Read the vocabulary below. Look up the meaning of any unfamiliar word the dictionary.

Cotton- Cotton is a natural vegetable fiber of greateconomic importance as a raw material for the manufacture of textiles and clothing.

Nylon- The nylon textile fiber is elastic and durable, does not attack moth, requires no ironing and are used in themanufacture of hosiery, knitted fabrics and materials, also bristles and lines. The molded nylon is used as a hard material in the manufacture of various utensils such as handles of brushes, combs, etc..Lycra- It is a long chain polymer, comprising at least 85% segmented polyurethane, which is known by the name of elastin or spandex, obtaining continuous filaments may be multifilament’s ormonofilaments.

Polyester- is a category of polymers which contain the ester functional group in their main chain. Although there are many polyesters, the term "polyester" as a specific material mostcommonly refers to polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

Silk- is a natural protein fibre, some forms of which can be woven into textiles. The protein fibre of silk is composed mainly of fibroin andproduced by certain insect larvae to form cocoons

Wool- is a soft, curly fibers obtained chiefly from doméstica.Químicamente sheep skin, wool is a protein fiber called keratin, which is characterizedby its fineness, elasticity (can be extended up to 50% of its length without break) and suitability for felting.

Synthetic material- A plastic product is one of the "chemical synthesis", whichconsists in the obtaining process chemicals based on simpler substances.
