The 1970s was an interesting period in fashion that saw many trends, which left a quite mark in the fashion world.

The fashion of the 1970's was a time when fashion was evolving in many ways. Women at that time had more freedom of wearing what they wanted when they wanted to. Fashion was also spreading around the world and was also culturally spreading and bringing newfashion styles to the U.S. as the years went by.

Micro Mini, or Maxi: Skirt lengths of the 1970's

The 70's was a time when women chose who they wanted to be and if they felt like putting a short mini skirt one day and then the next day a maxi dress, mini skirt or some hot pants the day after- that is actually what every women did in that era.

For nightwear women usually wore fulllength maxi dresses. For night in the beginning of the early 1970's it was either straight with a beautiful shiny sequenced fabric bodice and extravagant sleeves were the styles for a night out of party and fun. At a Disco dance party, girls might wear hot pants. Instead of women usually wearing a mini dress, it was rather liberation of women to want to start wearing pants just like men did.

Onemostly worn style was the Granny dress with high neck. Another largely successful evening style of the 70's was the halter neck dress, it could be either maxi or above the knee.


Also, the Skirts generally reached the ankles and were worn with platform heels. During the middle of the 70's however, the length was reduced, thus making way for micro minis.

Men loved wearing jersey shirts withslogans. The sporty look was visible with men opting for t-shirts in zany colors. While some preferred to dress up as sport stars, a few opted to follow the punk look.

Halter necks, maxi dresses and cat suits were all designed to capture the beauty of women, highlighting femininity and charm. Granny dresses gained acceptance around this time and were often included in a women’s wardrobe asboth casual and evening wear.




The influence of hippy clothes style

The influence of the self styled hippy clothes from every place of the world made its way into the world of fashion. Were others will able to bring ideas and accessories from other places around the world.

This look were sown from various materials and commonly referred to as “Comfort Wear” . The hippy look that beganin the 1960s continued to create a flutter even in the 1970s. Loud colors and accessories that sported the peace symbol were worn by men as well as women




Flared Trousers, Bell Bottoms, and Trouser Suits

One type of fashion that was the rage back in the 70's was the use of Trouser and Trouser Suits. Pants started off gently flared and grew into wide bell bottom proportions by 1975.These pants were slowly decreased to straight and wide until the end of the 70's they were back to narrow once more. The favorite fashion colors of the 1970's were:

• Apple green

• Bottle green

By the late seventies the popular fashion was straight, cigarette cut jeans. Hipsters were popular in the 1970s.
High waisted jeans were worn by many teenagers of the 70’s.High wаіѕt jeans and glitter ѕoсkѕ were often worn together. 70s fashion heated up as women started showing a bit more leg in sexy hot pants.


70s Fashion Shoes Hit New Heights.

By the early 1970's platform shoes were very popular. A typical platform shoe with a 1 inch sole was a little bit comfortable that would stop at the development of hard skin and would make you have the feeling ofhaving stones in the soles of your shoes.

For women who still loved to show their legs, it became even more popular in the early 70's to see women wearing hill shoes.
