S.Q.L. Server 2000 Installation Instructions

Overview.-

Our main database tool we going to use during thiscourse is a Database Administrator called S.Q.L. server, from Microsoft. The correct version for this document is 2000 version. You can use your own version of sql server if you want, but all knowledgerequired must be acquired by yourself in extra class.

Instructions.-

1- Installation package.- all files you need to install this program, are in 2.- Microsoft S.Q.L. Server 2000 Instillationfolder.

2- Before you start with installation process, you need to decide where to install this program C: for example, or d: as well. Next, you have to create a new folder called SQL in dedecided folder.

3- Enter to the SQL folder and create 3 sub folder whit this names:

4- In source material, you have to find a file and expand it to msdedir folder, you don’t have to haveany compressor program, because is an exe application, double click to execute it, and click next, when you see this window you type the path where de msdedir folder are, in my case is c:\sql\msdedir\5- Step 4 expanded some files to the msdedir folder; this folder now contains the server engine installation files for SQL server 2000. “Never click setup.exe”, we need another file to installserver engine. File needed to install server engine is called INSTALADOR.BAT, which is sited in a installation folder from source material, you must copy this file to msdedir folder as show next, and...
