Comparing and ordering Integers

LESSON PLAN


Math Content Objectives
Students will compare integers, using the symbols < and > .
Students will list integers in order from leastto greatest or viceversa.
Students will be able to identify integers in the number line.

The students will know what an integer is , they will compare integers in a real situation and they will learn how to use the number line .

Language Objectives
The studentswill practice the pronunciation of the basic numbers (speaking and listening) and will recognize their written forms (writing and reading). Also how to use and say greater than and less than .List of Math Vocabulary/ Pronunciation

Learning Strategies
Using images. The teacher is going to give students examples withposters board , in this case: number line, USA map, and a chart to help students visualize the integers.
Selective attention: The students will use the number line to resolve the exercise , this materialis going to help students to know the order of the integers easily.
Grouping. Students have to classify the information to know which is the order of the numbers from greatest to least andviceversa.

Materials
Map of USA, a poster board, worksheets, video recording .

PROCEDURE

PREPARATION.
First of all , the teacher is going to show students a video recording of the weather forecastusing an USA map with the meteorologist recorded temperature of different cities , then in a table, the students have to list these cities in order from least to greatest according to theirtemperatures.

PRESENTATION
The teacher shows students the temperatures as integers, teacher is going to explain what a integer is , then , using a number line ,the teacher is going to explain the value...
