Interaction And Usability
Description
The proposed interface design is a flight search website. The target users will be prospective travellers in Europe that want to makethe most of their travelling aspirations within a budget. Unlike websites currently popular online, users will be able to make the decision of buying a flight ticket based on the dates specified by theuser and a desired average ticket price, leaving the destination open, or as a final search option, not always making the user feel satisfied with the purchase unlike the aim of this site which willmake users feel they have achieved something and rewarded. This will be mainly an exploring interaction between user and interface, the user is looking forward to booking a holiday with no particulardestination in mind.
User assumptions
There are many sites available for purchasing flight tickets but not one major flight search engine that allows users to choose a particular date and pricerange, then see which destination is available within the selected parameters. Is there a website which lets you search for flights by entering every search option except the destination?
As Sharp,Rogers and Preece (2009) stated a “central concern […] is to develop interactive products that are usable” for users. The proposed interface will make the content of the website interesting anduseful to people as it will provide a different type of search allowing them to find the best option, best offer of flight ticket available for the lowest price. Ultimately, this ensures the users feelsatisfied with the functionality and usability of the website. The ease of use of the website should then result with a purchase.
