Durability :: The product or service should last
Serviceability :: How easy is it to repair the product?
Aesthetics :: What does the product look like
Features :: What does theproduct do?
Perceived Quality :: What is the reputation of the company or its product?
Conformance to Standards :: Is the product made exactly as the designer intended?

Quality characteristics vsspecifications or standards

Every good or service is designed with certain levels of quality, the designer defines these specifications so they can evaluate later if the standards were achieved.There are other names for this comparison, “quality of design” and “quality of conformance”. The quality of conformance is how well a product conforms with the standards that the designer defined, theneverything depends on the manufacturing processes, supervision, motivation, training and other process of control. So the goal is to reduce the variability of the result, taking as standard thecharacteristics of the designer.

Variables vs attributes

Variables are continuous measurements, like length, weight, voltage, etc. Attributes are discrete data, like the number of people to assist toan Olympic competition at the first hour or the number of times the product can fail.
Both are dispensable in the statistical information to measure quality and predict it.
