Is The Capital Penalty Effective?

Throughout history the death penalty has been applied to punish the worst criminals in almost all the societies since the tribes, passing through the guillotine on France until nowadays incountries such as Saudi Arabia, China and the USA. This penalty is applied normally when infamous acts are committed but, is this punishment effective? Some say it is and others classify it asinfamous as the original crime.

Those who are in favor state that it will eradicate the problem (criminal) for good, on the other side it must be considered that it does not eradicate the originof the problem. Even though the criminal won’t be able of committing such an act again, because he/she will never be back on the streets, it will be letting the ruffian “escape” from what theydid. But, still it must remembered that those who are condemned to the death penalty are usually people who are unplugged from everything and they see it as a source of sensations and challengesand what will be better for them than being killed?

Centuries ago it was said the famous state of the Hammurabi Codex: “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth”, even if this is stillapplied on many parts of the world, it are persons who decide the guiltiness and because of our humanity we may commit mistakes and kill someone who those not deserve it and is condemned because of amistake or of the corruption. Other people state that the capital punishment will reduce the crime indexes because those who are thinking about doing one of those acts will think it twice butsome studies have detected that it doesn’t work because of the mental state of the felon.

We will never know if the death penalty is truly and 100% effective or just in some cases or never butin the mean while we must remember that, even though both sides have true states, no one on Earth is God to judge who may life and who can’t even if thee implicated tried to decide for Him.
