James Naismith
In 1898, Naismith moved to University of Kansas, continuinghis studies in Denver. He was made a teacher and the first trainer of basketball in one school.
His achievements are widely recognized in his career as a trainer in the history of the sport. Hetrained Forrest “Phog” Allen, and after that he became one of the most prize winners as a trainer of United States and Kansas. Phog Allen was the trainer of Dean Smith and Adolph Rupp, two of the mostprize winners as a trainer in the masculine university basketball (between them, they have six NCAA tournaments).
Adolph Rupp was the trainer of Pat Riley that was one of the best players of the NBAhistory, he played 5 tournaments. Dean Smith was a trainer member of the Hall of Fame Larry Brown and of the famous player, Michael Jordan.
In August of the 1936, during the Berlin Olympic Games,he was named as honorable president of FIBA.
