On Sunday, October 7, the Jazz Ensemble I and Wind Symphony performed in the Atkinson Recital Hall. This concert was to recognize special students that were granted with scholarships that will helpthem to continue enriching our life with wonderful music. I had the pleasure to attend this magnificent performance, where some of my friends demonstrated their incredible talent by playing theinstrument they love the most. The first ensemble, conducted by Dr. Pancho Romero, played five wonderful pieces in which the mixture of sounds of the saxophones, trombones, trumpets and rhythm, made a nighfull of emotions. The ensemble made an accompaniment while each of the instruments played their SOLOS. The third piece, Angel Eyes, by Earl Brent and Matt Dennis, written in 1948,started with an ADAGIO TEMPO and a PIANO DYNAMIC, most of the CHORDS were CONSONANCE, which made this piece very enjoyable and easy to follow. The fourth song Nica’s Dream, by Horace Silver, startedwith a SOLO guitar with a MODERATO TEMPO, this piece was very happy and fun to watch. The last song performed by the Jazz Ensemble I, entitled Sweet Georgia Brown, by Maceo Pinkard and Kenneth Casey. This piece was performed with an ALLEGRETTO TEMPO; and an incredible trombone SOLO was played with accompaniment. I really enjoyed this first half of the concert; I liked the way the conductor...
