The Boy Fiend
It is one of the first cases known about a child killer. It is an American boy named Jesse Harding Pomeroy; he lived with his mother, father, andbrother, they were middle class family. The father was an abusive and alcoholic men. For any reason that he get mad, he wore their children to a cabana where he undressed them and beat until gettired. Over the years Jesse became a killer at an early age; choosing children as their victims. He murder and mutilate other children, he burn some of them and beat others to death. He takes his victimsto isolates locations; where he attacked and murdered, several survived to hes attacks. He was arrested on April 24, 1874, pleaded guilty on December 10, 1874 and sentenced to death penalty byhanging. However any governor was dared to sign the death sentence because of the age of the young. He died on September 29, 1932, of natural causes in the Psychiatric Hospital of Bridgewater.
This caseis really associated with psychology; as it is remarkable that this child was suffering from serious mental disorders such as: psychopathic disorder, dissociative identity disorder, and antisocialpersonality disorder. (chapter 13 pp. 486-488). All these Diagnostics defined only a mental illness that usually are related to antisocial, illegal and crimes acts. Usually this type of persons does notfeel empathy for others, and they are very sadistic and cruel at the moment of committing acts of violence and crimes. These people have knowledge of the acts committed, but they are unable tocontrol their impulses. The psychopath, are usually a person that has gradually evolved from an antisocial personality disorder, characterized by behaviors of opposition and transgression to the social andmoral standards to psychopathy in some cases with strong manifestations of violence.
