John F Kennedy

- President from the USA from 1961 to 1963

- First catholic – president

- 2nd youngest president (after Roosevelt)

- 2nd of 9 siblings

- Kennedy’sfamily story started in 1848 when Joseph Patrick Kennedy, an irish man, knew how to make good business and managed to make a big fortune. He was married to Rose and they had 9 children.

- Johnstudied in Harvard University, but his grades weren’t brilliant.

- His elder brother, Joe showed more aptitude for politics than him.

- In 1932 elections, his father managed to helpRoosevelt and he got many titles besides his fortune.

- Due to Roosevelt’s triumph, Joseph Kennedy took his two elder sons as assistants to Europe and there John discovered new countries and startedgetting interested in politics.

- John enlisted in the Navy when the Second World War started.

- His brother Joe died in 1944.

- His father wanted him to take his brother’s placein politics by running for president.

- In the 1952 election, he defeated incumbent Republican Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. for the U.S. Senate seat. The following year he was married to JacquelineLee Bouvier.

- In 1954 he was forced to leave his politician carrier due to his back condition after the war.

- In 1955, after he returned to politics, he run for vice-president but wasdefeated by Estes Kefauver.

- Defeated Nixon in 1961 elections and became president.

- As president, he renewing measures changed the USA. (motto: Kennedy is in the change) he promotedarts and culture, private investment and consume growth, relaunched the economy.

- Recommended the release of Matrin Luther King.

- He was murdered the 22nd November 1963 in Dallas. (hewas shot)

- Only 46, President Kennedy died younger than any U.S. president to date.
