Jonathan Richard Guy Greenwood, better known as Jonny Greenwood (born November 5, 1971) is a multi-instrumentalist and musician, English composer, member of thealternative rock band Radiohead. It is also the brother of Radiohead member Colin Greenwood, bassist. His nickname, "Jonny" is written without h, as the name is Jonathan, not John. Greenwood had begun studying psychology at Oxford Brookes University (then OxfordPolytechnic University) when the predecessor of Radiohead On A Friday signed a recording contract with EMI in 1991, so he left the university shortly afterwards. One of the most talented and eminent multi-instrumentalists, able to play lead guitar with amazing skill, as wellas the piano, organ, xylophone, glockenspiel, harmonica, Ondes Martenot, Viola, Banjo, synthesizer and other instruments with ever recorded. The original contributions include JonnyRadiohead song from a rather soft rock "The Tourist" and the theme "A Wolf at the Door," two tracks that close the album OK Computer and Hail to the Thief, respectively.
Jonny is known forhis sense of humor, despite his great timidity. Apparently, not very satisfied with the sound of his voice, what he has done few interviews
Greenwood has inspired many with his aggressivestyle and playing.
