Journey to Italy
Have you ever wondered how it is to be in Europe or have you ever been there? Europe is also known as the old continentbecause of all his history, and has great countries to visit. The country I most admired is Italy, I don’t know if you had visited Italy. This is how my journey to Italy was. My first journey toEurope, specifically to Italy as a tourist was very enjoyable because I went to eat pasta, visited the Vatican city, and last I was able to practice my Italian.
It all began over two years ago, Ishould tell you that my mother’s family is Italian. It was the first time I went out of Ecuador, so I was a little bit nervous. Everyone told me that the best thing you can do to learn about other countryis by its food. So the very first thing I did was go to eat some Italian food. I was told that the pasta was born in Italy so I decided to go to a pasta restaurant. That wasn’t very difficult becausethe whole city was full of pasta restaurants. I entered in one and got surprised when I saw the menu, there were lot more types of pasta that I thought. I finally decided and asked the waitress onenamed “Risotto Frutti di Mare”, when he brought it to me I got more surprised watching that it was rice not pasta. Even though it was delicious, I ate the risotto and was the best rice I had ever eaten.After a good lunch, my journey in Italy continued. The next day I wished to met the city of the Vatican. I didn’t know it was a separate country of Italy, with its own rules. Even though it isinside Italy’s frontiers. I take a train that leave me in the entrance of the Vatican city. I was facing the San Peter’s Plaza and there where lots of people, and for my surprise not only catholic people.I enter in San Peter’s Plaza and a huge crowd was starting to enter, when I noticed the Pope was going to give a speech.
