Kanati the hunter and the cave of animals
In ancient times, there was only one Cherokee village. They los most prominent family in this village was that of Kanati the Hunter and his wife Selu Cornwoman. They had two sons, one born to Selu (Younger Brother) and another who grew from a clot of deer blood: Wild Boy (had magical powers).
Every day the boys tried to follow their father. But everytime he saw them. Kanati went up to the sacred mountains and followed a trail to a cave blocked by a stone. He pulled the stone aside,and went home carrying the deer on his shoulders.
Out of the cave ran deer after deer, and as the boys tried to push the rock back over the cave mouth, other animals came out, Bears came out, Panthers came out. Badgers came out. Wolves came out. Raccoons came outKanati el Cazador y la Cueva de los Animales

En los tiempos antiguos, no había una sola familia cherokee village. Ellos los más destacados en este pueblo fue la de Kanati el cazador y su esposa Selu Cornwoman. Tuvieron dos hijos, uno nacido a Selu (hermano menor) y otro que pasó de un coágulo de sangre de ciervo: Wild Boy (tenía poderes mágicos).
Cada día los muchachos trataron de seguir supadre. Pero cada vez que los vi. Kanati subió a las montañas sagradas, y siguió un rastro de una cueva bloqueada por una piedra. Se sacó la piedra a un lado, y se fue a casa con el ciervo en sus hombros.
Fuera de la cueva corriendo venado después de los ciervos, y que los chicos trataron de empujar la roca hacia atrás de la boca de la cueva, los animales salieron otras, osos salieron, Panterassalió. Tejón salió. Lobos salió. Mapaches salió.

In the 11th century, there was a debate among Muslim chemists on whether the transmutation
of substances was possible. A leading opponent was Avicenna, ibn Cienna, who discredited the
theory of transmutation of substances:"Those of the chemical craft know well that no change can be effected in the different
species of substances, though they can produce the appearance of such change."
According to legend, the l Jth-century scientist and philosopher Albertus Magnus is said to
have discovered the philosopher's stone and passed it to his pupil Thomas Aquinas, shortly
before his death circa 1280. Magnus does not confirmhe discovered the stone in his
writings. but he did record that he witnessed the creation of gold by "transmutation".
Jabir's theory was based on the concept that metal s like gold and silver could be hidden in
alloys and ores, from which they could be recovered by the appropriate chemical treatment.
Jabir himself is believed to be the inventor of aqua regia, a mixture of muriatic(hydrochloric) and nitric acids, one ofthe few substances thatcan dissolve gold (and which
is still often used for gold recovery and purification).

En el siglo 11, hubo un debate entre los químicos musulmanes sobre si la transmutación
de sustancias era posible. A losprincipales opositores fue Avicena, Ibn Cienna, que desacreditaron a la
