Once your placement at a summer camp has been confirmed, you can start to plan your international flights to the USA. It is your responsibility to arrange your own flight toand from camp. Please remember the following important points regarding your international flights:
You are required to arrive at camp by the start date specified in yourcamp contract.
Your camp will provide ‘onward travel’ instructions (see below) from their preferred US arrival airport to camp. Ensure that the flight you book arrives intime for any camp pick up or scheduled bus/train.
Your flight ticket must include a departure flight from the USA on or before the end date of your J-1 visa grace period. Ifyou fail to provide proof that you will be leaving the USA by the end date of your J-1 visa grace period, you may be denied entry to the USA.
The cost for your internationalflights to/from the US are NOT included in your Camp Leaders program fees.
We advise that you wait until you have obtained your J-1 Visa before booking your flight to the USAOnward Travel Information
You will fly in to SAN ANTONIO INTERNATIONAL airport where you will be picked up by a camp representative and driven to camp.
After passingthrough immigration, baggage claim and customs, look for someone holding a sign that says YMCA Camp Flaming Arrow OR your name on it. They will meet you in the baggage claimarea or outside of customs (whichever is the closest point they can access due to airport security regulations).
