Knowledge Issues In History
Next, there could be aspects ofhistory that are lies or instances in which the entire truth of an event is not told. This especially applies to the history of ancient civilizations and other times and civilizations that did not haveaccurate record keeping. The history of those civilizations that we know of today are mainly based on what was left behind from those civilizations. Another fact about history is that history is writtenby the elite people which means that not all the perspectives in history may have been recorded. This is true in the phrase “The victor writes history,” as in many instances of history, the victors ofwars idolize themselves and their efforts that led to their victory of the war. For example, they may not cover certain aspects that were positive about the country that they were at war with, butthey will do their best to point out all of the negatives of that country when recording history.
Another issue is that historical records may be missing, destroyed, or hidden. There may be certainevents in history that are not known or not fully known about because of missing or destroyed records. There may also be events that have occurred, but are unknown because such historical records aboutthose events are kept hidden by the governments. There have been instances in history in which history, itself, has been altered to reflect upon what a government or person wants the people to know...
