Traditional Korean clothing has its roots extending back at least as far as the Three Kingdoms Period (57 B.C. - 668 A.D.), as evidenced by wall paintings in tombs dating from this period. TheKorean hanbok represents one of the most visable aspects of Korean culture.
The top part called a jeogori is blouse-like with long sleeves with the men's version being longer, stretching down to the waist.Women wear skirts (chima) while men wear baggy pants (paji). Commoners wore white, except during festivals and special occasions such as weddings. Clothes for the upper classes were made of brightcolors and indicated the wearer's social status. Various accessories such as foot gear, jewelry, and headdresses or hair pins completed the outfit.

Food and Drink
Rice is the staple of the Koreandiet and appears at almost all meals. A typical meal includes rice, some type of soup, sometimes a main dish of meat or pork or poultry, and various side dishes. Kimchi, the most common group of sidedishes, includes various vegetables (cabbage, radishes, and various roots) fermented with spices (garlic, red pepper, and ginger). Korea produces several types of grain alcohol, most notably soju.Nowadays, many people eat more and more Western, Japanese, and Chinese food, with pizza becoming more popular than kimchi among the younger generation.
Although most people think of kimchi as Korea's fireyhot and red food, there exist dozens of different types of kimchi. Some recipes call for little or no red pepper powder, so not all types are spicy. (In fact, kimchi developed long before the redpepper was introduced to Korea.) Because of the its ingredients and fermentation process, kimchi has many nutrients. Over the years, Koreans have created many types of foods from kimchi.
