K-pop an abbreviation of Korean pop
Is a musical genre consisting of pop, dance, electropop, hip hop, rock, R&B, electronic music originated in South Korea. In addition to music, K-pop has grown into a popular subculture among teenagers and young adults around the world, resulting in widespread interest in the fashion and style of Korean idol groups and singers.
Through the presenceof Facebook fan pages, availability on iTunes, Twitter profiles, and music videos on YouTube, the ability of K-pop to reach a previously inaccessible audience via the Internet is driving a change in the exposure and popularity of the genre. South Korean popular culture is today serving as a major driver of youth culture all across the Pacific Rim.

2000s: Popularity in Asia and globalization
Many ofK-pop's biggest idol groups and solo acts, are popular in most East and South East Asia. Because of increased accessibility via the internet, K-Pop has begun expanding to the rest of the world as well, but has not yet reached the mainstream of many countries. Globalization of K-Pop media and fandom has been facilitated by sites such as Facebook and YouTube, which allow users from around the worldaccess to videos and information about artists and promotions. Kpop has undoubtly caught the interest of the growing new generation.

The Korean Wave
refers to the spread of South Korean culture around the world. The term was coincided in China in mid-1999 by Beijing journalists surprised by the fast growing popularity of Korean entertainment and culture in China.
Many asian televisoncompanies broadcasted Korean shows because the productions were cheaper. The impact in the audience and the popularity increased, the wave was in a boom at 2000.
South Korea is now the 10th biggest economy, they can afford movies and shows with the biggest production costs in Asia. Performances of Korean singers are skillfully produced often with lasers and fireworks.

Big Bang 
is a popular SouthKorean boy group under the management of YG Entertainment. Formed in 2006, Big Bang has grown to become one of the most successful Asian acts in the world. The group consists of leader G-Dragon,T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri.
Big Bang has been labelled as the "Revolutionary Group of Hallyu Wave" and "South Korea's Most Wanted" for their unique urban-originated music compared to other boybands and girl groups. The members' involvement in writing and producing their own music. To this day, they remain Korea's national boy group as they lead the Korean music scene, fashion scene, and Korean pop culture through their innovative sound and unwavering popularity worldwide.
