LA REPRESENTACION PADRE Y SU INFLUENCIA
SOBRE LAS MANIFESTACIONES CLINICAS QUE
INVOLUCRAN EL CUERPO

Resumen
Este estudio está orientado a determinar si se pueden hallar características específicas
en la representación padre operante en el aparato psíquico de las adolescentes que padecen anorexia nerviosay qué efecto ejercen dichas características sobre las manifestaciones clínicas que involucran el cuerpo. Con ese objetivo se aplicó el CCRT a los
episodios de relación con el padre, narrados por 30 adolescentes que padecían anorexia
nerviosa y por 30 adolescentes sin trastornos de la conducta alimentaria. Se compararon
los resultados de ese trabajo con los obtenidos al aplicar el mismo método(CCRT) a los
episodios de relación con el padre, con el médico clínico y con el psiquiatra, quienes aparecían en Diario de una anoréxica, de Lori Gottlieb. También se analizaron las características de la representación padre y del posterior objeto de enamoramiento que se
detectaron en Gradiva, de Wilhelm Jensen. Se halló que las adolescentes que padecían
anorexia nerviosa habían forjado unarepresentación padre muy distinta de la que se
revelaba en las adolescentes del grupo de control. Partiendo de las características de la
representación padre operante en el psiquismo de las primeras, se pudo establecer un
nexo entre esas características y un sector de las manifestaciones clínicas que involucran
el cuerpo en la anorexia nerviosa: restricción alimentaria, hiperactividad, amenorrea,
hipotermiay raptos de furia insensata que las impulsa a lastimarse.

Summary
The present study is oriented towards determining whether it is possible to find specific
characteristics in the representation of father working in the mind of adolescents with
anorexia nervosaand what effect those characteristics might have on the clinical
manifestations involving the body. With that objective, CCRT was applied to the
episodes of relationship with the father told by 30 adolescents suffering from anorexia
nervosa and by 30 adolescents with no food behaviour syndrome. The results were

compared to the ones obtained when applying the same method (CCRT) to the episodes
of relationship with the father, the doctor and the psychiatrist who appeared in Diary
of an anorexic by Lori Gottlieb. The characteristics of the representation of father and
the object ofexogamic love detected in Gradiva by Wilhelm Jensen were also analyzed.
It was found that the adolescents suffering from anorexia nervosa had formed a
representation of father very different from that of the control group. As for the
characteristics of the representation of father working in the mind of the first group, it
was possible to establish a connection between those characteristics and asection of
the clinical manifestations that involve the body in anorexia nervosa: food restrictions,
hyperactivity, amenorrhea, hypothermia and irrational episodes of fury leading them
to hurt themselves.

Introducción
Alegando distintas razones, lasadolescentes que padecen anorexia nerviosa se entregan
a una restricción alimentaria capaz de producir un deterioro físico alarmante. Por lo general, el adelgazamiento suele estar precedido o acompañado por otras manifestaciones
clínicas que involucran el cuerpo, como la hiperactividad, la amenorrea o la hipotermia.
