La Casa De Los Espiritus

A girl comes home with an old man. After getting together, sitting on a chair, where he asks to be alone. Woman sits under the stairs, near where he plays a little girl begins to reflect on hislife and soon begins to tell a story.

The woman tells her mother, Clara (Meryl Streep), fell in love with Esteban Trueba (Jeremy Irons) since I was small. Esteban had requested marriage toClara's sister, the beautiful Rosa. But Rosa Clara died and Stephen married years later.

In the scene with the parents, Clara, who is still a young girl sitting next to Stephen and moveobjects with his mind. The family tried to hide the psychic powers of Clara, but everyone knew about them.

Esteban and Clara marry, and have a daughter, Blanca (Winona Ryder), who is in love withPedro (Antonio Banderas), son of the manager of Tres Marias, the estate of Esteban Trueba. Peter Stephen creates enmity as it has communist ideas and brings together workers of Las Tres Marias,to protest their treatment pattern.

Elections are held to win the left, but the Conservative Party is not satisfied and promueba a coup. Pedro Trueba gets carried to the Embassy of Canada toavoid being arrested, but White is arrested and tortured.

In another scene Esteban arrives home of Clara and Blanca, he speaks to Clara, who quietly replied. He says he does not want to livein Tres Marias anymore, and asks if he can be at home. Esteban also says he still does not know his granddaughter. Clara takes him to her bedroom where a little girl is sleeping, her name isAlba.

White takes his father to the old house in Tres Marias. This is the beginning of the same scene of the movie. Esteban, left inside, sees the spirit of Clara arrive and help him die.Blanca sits outside and reflects on his life. For her, life is Pedro, Alba and just living it has become important. While Alba plays outside the door when the leaves turn in the wind, the film ends.
