Isaac Newton
Isaac Newton was born on January 4, 1643 in the small village of Woolsthorpe in the Lincolnshire. His father, a small landowner, had just died at the beginning of October,after having married in April of the same year Hannah Ayscough, coming from a wealthy family in another time. When the small Isaac had just three years old, his mother married again the ReverendBarnabas Smith, rector of North Witham, which resulted in a fact that would decisively influence the development of the character of Newton: Hannah moved to the House of her new husband andher son remained in Woolsthorpe in the care of his maternal grandmother.
In his scientific discoveries include work on the nature of light and optics and the development of mathematicalcalculation.
Newton shares the credit with Leibniz for the development of integral and differential, calculus used to formulate the laws of physics. He also contributed in other areas ofmathematics, the binomial theorem and the Newton–Cotes formulas.
Newton was the first to demonstrate that the natural laws that govern the movement on Earth and those governing the movement ofcelestial bodies are the same. It is often described as the biggest ever scientific, and his work as the culmination of the scientific revolution.
