La Historia

La historia comienza con el relato de un hombre judío de apellido a su hija Chaja. Escapando de los nazis durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial tuvo que guardar en unas maletas, cosas personales yqueridas, y las escondió en un subterráneo con la esperanza de recuperarlas algún día. Al terminar ésta, regresó a Antwerp en busca de sus valijas, pero los bombardeos y la guerra habían cambiado el terrenoy la búsqueda se le convirtió en una obsesión.

Chaya es una estudiante de filosofía, judía no ortodoxa, impulsiva y de espíritu libre. Un viejo amigo le consigue trabajo de niñera con una familiajudía ortodoxa, mismo que le cuesta aceptar y conservar debido al constante choque de convicciones entre la joven y la familia, en especial con el padre. Pero todo cambia cuando conoce al pequeñoSimcha, un niño pelirrojo de 4 años, que no había pronunciado ni una sola palabra hasta que conoce a Chaja, y decide demostrarle que sabe hablar. La relación entre Chaja y Simcha se vuelve tan grande ymágica que logra "tocar" a los demás miembros de la familia, traspasando cualquier diferencia. Chaya comienza a entender el judaísmo de sus padres y el suyo propio.

The story begins with the story ofa Jewish man named his daughter Chaja. Escaping from the Nazis during World War II had to save some luggage, personal belongings and cherished, and hid in a basement in hopes of someday recover. Uponcompletion of this, he returned to Antwerp in search of their bags, but the bombings and the war had changed the search field and it became an obsession.

Chaya is a student of philosophy, Jewishunorthodox, free-spirited and impulsive. An old friend gets nanny job with an Orthodox Jewish family, same as it costs to accept and retain because of the constant clash of beliefs between the youthand family, especially the father. But everything changes when he meets the little Simcha, a red-haired child of four years, who had not said a word until he meets Chaja, and decides to show him who...
