Since we’re little kids people teach us that we read to acquire knowledge and learn new things, but never has someone asked why we read? Although itseems similar the question does not carry the same answer. We read to know new things is the answer to the question for what reason do we read. The answer to why we read is because it’s written. Wealso wonder why we write; we think this answer is obviously that we write to express our feelings but, why write? We write so it can be read. Who is going to read it? Someone.
The primarypurpose of reading and writing is communication. The main forms of communication is telephone and television. The first step to achieve good communications that the transmitter and the receiver need isagreement. If the transmitter has an idea he has to transmit that thought to the receiver in a way that he can understand it clearly. Having an idea is easy; trying to make someone else to agreewith it, it’s not.
The second step to get good communication is to choose how you will convey the idea. There are two ways to do it, orally or symbolically. To communicate orally you have toknow how to speak eloquently so the receiver can understand you. To make it easier to understand the message you can use examples, it helps to understand better. The other way to transmit an idea issymbolically. The symbolic form is being able to explain with great detail and give several examples to express yourself. An example can be when a police man is going to arrest someone, that personputs his arms up. His arms up are a sign that he is unarmed or his hands are empty.
The sound is a compression and decompression of air. For having sound there must be a sound emitter, aproduces that transmit a vibration, and a receiver that captures the vibrations.
