Flat Stanley’s Trip to Switzerland
Pennington
Switzerland
After some 10 hours of flight, Flat Stanley arrived in our house in Birnbaumweg 5 in Bottmingen Switzerland on Thursday 19th April,2012. Switzerland is located in the center of Europe. Here a picture of the arrival!
The first thing we did was eat, as it was noon time in Switzerland while you were still sleeping your lastsleeping hour in Pennington!
It is springtime in Switzerland and there are flowers everywhere so we went for a walk to take a picture of the Tulips that are so characteristic of this time.
InSwitzerland there are 4 official languages, French, German, Italian and Romanch and all products have the 3 languages on the packs (all except Romanch because it is very similar to Italian). All childrenin primary school must learn at least 2 official languages and English in addition.
After our Tulip walk we had to practice CUATRO, a Venezuelan guitar with only 4 strings. Yannick has a lot of fundoing it.
Then we took the TRAM, which is a city train to pick up Aisha to bring her to the piano class. She had lunch with her best friend Jule. People in Switzerland use the publictransportation daily. Ecology has always been a priority in this country. And one can go to almost every corner of the country with a bus, train, tram, ferry or cable car. It is very well connected.

On our way we stop to make a picture of a huge orange statue. Basel is the city with most Museums per capita in the world and onecan see art in almost every corner of the city!
After piano class we went back home to have supper and get ready for bed. Next day was school day and we had to get up early and bring Flat Stanleyto our classrooms! That was exciting.
Like every kid in Switzerland, we have to walk to school. It is a 2 km journey and it is quite fun to meet our friends on the way.
