Good morning class, today I’m going to do a presentation about a topic that I founded really interesting, and I think that many of you will find this interesting too. Because at this age many of us care about having a healthy body based on proper nutrition. It’s for such reasons that I’m going to talk to you about proteins and steroids.

First of all we gotta askourselves what are proteins?. Proteins are the main nutrient for the formation of the muscles of the body. They are composed of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen. Proteins are not just in our food, they are a very important part of our body structure like our bones, nails, organs, muscles, hair, etc. There are many kinds of proteins, the ones that I’m going to talk about are the supplementaryproteins.

Commercially there are two most selling supplementary proteins: the whey protein and the casein protein. This ones are the most commonly used by people because of its qualities and because they are easy to get.

-Whey protein is one of the two proteins found in milk, it is obtained while making cheese, it’s actually the thing that is discarded from it whenyou isolate the milk plasma. This protein provides quick nourishment to the muscles and therefore is referred to as “fast protein”. Studies have suggested that whey protein has anti-cancer properties conducted by the anti-oxidants that are found in it.

- Casein protein it is the predominant protein found in milk. It is a slow digesting protein that plays a huge role in preventing themuscular break down. This protein has the ability of slow amino acid release, this release can last up to seven hours after digestion therefore is referred to as “slow protein”. This protein provides superior muscle growth and strength gain.

Now you may be asking yourselves, what protein is better? Which one is the most convenient for me? Well if you are an athlete that is lookingto improve his game, his strength, and his stamina without
gaining lots of muscle mass and therefore lots of weigh, the whey protein would be the best for you. But if you just want to grow big guns and you don’t mind gaining a lot of weigh I would recommend you the casein protein.

The benefits about the consumption of supplementary proteins are that it will help your muscle todevelop fast. It will help you to gain more muscle mass than if you wouldn’t be using it. It will give you more stamina and resistance to the tiredness, and the best thing is that it is legal for all sports in the world.

There are really no bad thing about the consumption of supplementary proteins, because they only help your body to develop better. But if you abuse of them thenthey will hurt your body and put in danger your health. That’s why proteins have instructions about how and when to use them.

Now I’m am going to start with the second part of my presentation. It is about steroids. Steroids are a large group of chemical substances classified by an specific carbon structure. Many hormones , body constituents and drugs are steroids, thus the termsteroids may carry many meanings for example: corticosteroids they are drugs use to reduce swelling another example is the male hormone testosterone. Steroids are not just a magical solution to give lean muscle mass to your body, there is a lot of science behind it. To start the steroids that are use to give muscle mass are called anabolic steroids, they are the synthetic form of the male hormonetestosterone. That steroid makes the cell to generate more proteins at a faster rate, and makes the muscle retain more liquid.
