In USA, first Monday of September
In many parts of the world on May Workers' Day is commemorated and remembered the rights of the global labor movement. But we know how,when and why it is a holiday. Let's go back into history.
In 1886, the USA working hours were 18 hours, which at this point is absurd and abusive, but at that time was normaluntil it appeared a Chicago organization called the Noble Order of the Knights of Labor ( Noble Order of the Knights of Labor), who began to fight for the reduction of credithours to 8 hours. After a long time and pressure due to constant strikes that were conducted throughout the country, managed to cede the business against this change. But noteveryone was respected this agreement and the factory and Mc. Chicago Cormik refused to recognize the victory of the workers against the corporate power, an issue which wasrejected by the employees and all those who fought for this change and once again began demonstrations outside the factory and 1 May 1886 the police started firing on thedemonstrators, leaving dead and wounded on the road, which was repeated in the remaining days. On May 4 a bomb exploded against the police, become known as the Haymarket. As aresult, eight workers were convicted of this, of which five to death and three to life imprisonment, without checking his guilt in fact.
Since that time, and in some parts of theworld Labor Day is commemorated and remember the martyrs of Chicago and is a party vindication of the rights of workers, but curiously the place where it originated (USA)this date will not marks and its replacement, first Monday in September Labor Day is celebrated with a parade in New York and organized by the Noble Order of the Knights of Labor.
