As requested I have watched first grade language and grammar class. The teacher in charge of this group is Miss Mary. It isn't a big group, they are 9 students (but only 6 of them werepresent in the class i have watched) . They are using the book Backpack Gold 1.
WARM UP
The teacher, Miss Mary, started the grammar and language class calling the registre, three pupils wereabsents. At the same time she corrected their pronouniciation. After that, she asked if they had practised for the test (which is on the next Monday) but only one had done it. The pupil who hadpractised gave her his excersices and they corrected it together. She corrected and expained his mistakes. Miss Mary checked if the pupils pencilcases were completed and all of them had it.PRESENTANTION
The teacher told the students to open the classbook, to write the date and to underline with a ruler. To enganged the students she sticked a poster at the wall, which has different types of ballsand the students really liked it. The last number they had studied was 18. The one that she explained that lesson was "19". They counted all together and they revised all the numbers that they havestudied before.
SYSTEMATIZATION
They copied from the board a picture of the numbers. She added some emoticones and animals faces so the pupils got excited. Miss Mary told the pupils to decorate thenumbers in their own classbooks and then show it to her. Also below the draw they had to write in capital letters the number many times (eg; NINETEEN, NINETEEN, NINETEEN).
PRACTICE STEPS
· ORAL:The teacher corrected the student's pronunciation while they are answering the questions she made, (for example: how many balls are at that poster?) She corrected all the excercise in oral so shecould correct the vocabulary and saw who need more help in the pronunciation.
· WRITTEN: She gave the students some excercises (they were sums so the pupils really enganged the activity) and they had...
