Topic A: The Power of drug cartels in Latin America

Iraq is a country that at first place, was ruled by the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein,that collapsed in 2003, now the country is ruled under a parliamentary democracy. Iraq's economy is centered on the oil sector, which provides over 90% of government income and foreign exchangeearnings.
Drug cartels are organizations which develop, promote and control the drug trafficking operations. They manage from small agreements to formal or big enterprises. This cartels operate in manycountries, principally Latin America, such as Mexico, and Colombia, South Asia and USA in states like Florida, New York, Texas, California, Arizona, etc.
In recent years, Mexico’s and Colombia’s drugcartels have caused the increase of violent battles with one another as well with this countries’ governments.
About 90 percent of the cocaine that enters USA is trafficked from Mexico. Thistrafficking is controlled principally by border cartels along the southeast coast.
Mexican government is implementing military and security tactics to end with this problem.
In the other hand, Colombianprocess of cocaine has caused several problems among people around this area. Colombia is one of the largest producer and exporter of heroine, internationally. Also, the chemicals used in the process ofdrugs, are used by Iraq to create poison gas.
Iraq is a little involved with drugs, it is a country where you can get almost any medication or drug, without needing any prescription, the most commondrugs found in Iraq are Valium, sedatives and antibiotics, because of the constant war action in this country, and all the soldiers request before going to war, illegal medications so they can usethem during the war as antibiotics or sedatives.
Drug problem in Iraq is important, because it had become a transit point in the trafficking of hashish and heroin to Persian Gulf countries and Europe...
