Obesity
The role government should play in prevention of obesity should be a great one. The people listen to the government and the government has overall power.The government has the power to regulate the choices that people make, but that doesn’t mean that they will. Personal responsibility plays a big role in prevention because you have to make healthychoices that benefit your health and not ones that harm your health.
Because government funds public school education they should raise awareness on childhood obesity, its risk factors and healthy eatinghabits to establish a generation or healthy Americans. But obesity cannot just be prevented by eating healthy but also by exercising. The government doesn’t put in a lot of money towards the exerciseprograms in schools. They should put more money into the exercise system in schools in order to allow kids to be healthy and to exercise. Schools themselves should encourage exercise and hold P.Eclasses more than once a week and show the kids fun ways of exercising and loosing weight. On another note, food given in public schools is very unhealthy. It is the government’s responsibility tomonitor the ingredients that are put in to the food and how the food is processed. They should set standards for ingredients used in food that are healthy and a good choice for Americans.
Moving awayfrom the school system. Our personal choices have an effect on prevention of obesity. Through our own personal choices we are preventing obesity of ourselves. If we are the heads of families we preventobesity in them. It is our responsibility to teach ourselves and to the people around us to make healthy choices and to lead a healthy lifestyle. For example, in my house my parents encourage me andmy brothers to make healthy choices and to exercise in order to stay healthy. My mom makes healthy meals and tries to help us make healthy choices.
