Lazarillo De Tormes- English

​Lazaro begins telling his life story beginning with the death of his father. After the death of Lazaro’s dad him and his mother move back to the city where she met the black man. Theblack man would sometimes spend the night or would come to pretend he wanted to buy eggs. Lazaro says he did not really like him, but he brought food and he began eating better. Hismother shortly after became pregnant shortly after, but he still did not live with them. The black man gets arrested for stealing from the stables so his mother could his little brother andraise him. A blind man asks his mom if she could let Lazarillo lead him, shortly after they leave somewhere else to get more money. The old man beats him up for the first time hitting hishead against a bull so he could be more aware for himself and the old man. The blind man makes a living from scamming people, mostly women claiming that through his prayers he couldmake their husbands love them more, help them have children, tell them if they were having a boy or a girl, and so on. The old man made a lot of money, but he did not give any to Lazarillohe was very stingy. He would keep a pad lock on the sack he carried food in to make sure nobody would steal from him, he would hardly give Lazarillo food. Lazarillo began to steal winefrom him, but he noticed and kept it with him at all times; however Lazarillo was getting used to drinking and felt like he needed it. The old man found how Lazaro stole wine from andsmacked with the jug knocking his teeth off and cutting his face. Lazaro makes up his mind to leave he blind man after he stills the sausage from him and the old man puts his nose insidehis mouth making him throw up. Lazaro leaves the old man after he tells him to go through a narrow passage so his feet would not get wet, the old man hit himself and split his head open.
