INTRODUCTION

Nowadays,everyone talks about emerging leaders. What should the role of leaders be in this 21st Century? The importance of the role as a leader should be global and evolving as possible. This means currentleaders should be thorough and integral: entrepreneurs, managers and most importantly serve as a leading example to their staff.

CONTENTS

In my view, the new leader must be able to have abilitiesto innovate, execute, manage, oversee and be a strong model for the organization’s staff. They are decisive, and must empower staff to become leaders at all levels, meeting new challenges, but beingrealistic adapting to the new globalized world and staff capabilities.

A leader must be open to listen to new ideas and advice from other staff and key players to get the right decision-making. Bykey players, I do not only mean the immediate staff in his organization or area, but also the customers, vendors, and any other partner or competing organization and be able to learn from them.Leaders should be able to come up with solutions on the different questions: What are we doing right? How can we fix the mistakes from the past?

One big challenge that we encounter is the continuedchange in general. It could be new technology, a globalized economy, politics, law, social issues, etc., where we have to keep up and be open to learning and adapting to change.
