1. Authors biographical notes: Suzanne Collins


Suzanne Collins was born on August 10, 1962 in Hartford, Connecticut. Collins began in as a writer for children's televisionshows. He also is an American television writer and novelist, best known as the author of The New York Times best telling series. The Under land Chronicles and the Hunger Games trilogy. She lives with her two children’s and her husband, and they are Roman Catholic.

2. Select three characters and explain something about each using characterization:

- Katniss:She is the indirect characterization. She is the girl that gives her life for her sister; she prefers to go as volunteer, just for save her sister. The one how prefers to suffer, die or something bad instead of let her sister go. She is thoughtful, is protective (family ands friend) has courage, strength, strong attitude, positive, never let himself go down but in his interior she care for thepeople even if isn’t her family, very intelligent and help everyone that needs.



- Peeta: Is a direct characterization. He is the baker son of the district 12. He wasn’t expecting to be caught when they call her name for the Hunger games. At the beginning he was shy, but knew every detail of the Hunger games even the old players. He is a smart guy with a lot ofstrategies, know how to out smart the people, he is very strong, caring, protective, help the one that needed, and a good actor.

- Haymitch: Is a direct characterization. He is the mentor of both, he is one of the oldest players who was able to win the Hunger games. Aa a mentor he said to the both what to do and what not to do, and tell bothe that the most important are thesponsors This men is a drunker, at the beginning he didn’t care at all, but as the games begin he became caring and start it getting sponsors to katniss and petta.

3. Mention three minor characters and their relevance in the story

- Prim: She is the little sister of Katniss. For the first time she was enter to participate in the hunger games. Everyonethink she wouldn’t get because of her first time but she got named. If it wasn’t for sister she was sent to the hunger games. She is a soft girl, innocent, adorable and intelligent. Love her sister.

- Cinna: He worked as stylist of Katniss. More than stylist he became one of the person Katniss was trusting, he was her friend every time. He knew what was right and wrongfor her. He listened and understands her, but the must important thing is that he gives security and help Katniss saying positive word.

- Rue: A little girl from District 11. She helped Katniss escape from the ones that want to kill her. Since the beginning, Rue has stolen Katniss heart because it reminds her little sister, Prim. Then , they ally to destroy the otherones, they trust each other. Until Rue was killed and Katniss was feel with emtines, because she is the one that help her. Rue was a little girl, innocent, smart, humble, nice, strong, and a good climber.


4. There are two symbols, what abstract ideas or concept may be found in these two symbols?

-The mocking jay: This was a bird sound in which Katniss and Ruecommunicate to let each other know they are ok or good. These represent rebellion, survival, ability, creative, and adaptation, intelligent.
-The poisonous berries: This berries was inhered in the hunger games by a girl that dead. These berries represent the dead, deception, harsh, and sadness.

5. What element of society do you see that lead us to have a future much like...
