The Volume 65 of the book series Contemporary Black Biography wrote that Rihanna's rare diva rhythm and blues (R & B)emerging from the world of Caribe.146 Convertiréndose an international sensation, Rihanna is known for blending R & B with Caribbean music such as reggae and dancehall.147 At the time of hisdebut, reviewers referred to her as "bubblegum queen" and her music to "teen pop" 148 Larry Meyler of The Sun stated that Rihanna is turning bad good and had shaken off any image "teen pop" while dancingthe escenario.149 While performing at the Ottawa Bluesfest, Denis Armstrong of Canadian Online Explorer commented on her performance saying that her show was a Disney-style fantasy of a sassyattitude, caresses personales.148
Rihanna was originally marketed as a reggae singer since she burst onto the music scene in 2005, with a styles of pop, R & B and dancehall. Their music includes variousstyles of musical genres, including contemporary R & B, dance-pop and the Caribbean music styles of reggae and dancehall.150 With the release of Music of the Sun and its lead single "Pon deReplay", Jason Birchmeier Allmusic described Rihanna's musical style as a synthesis of Caribbean rhythms and beats with urban problems pop.151 Rihanna's dance-described using a dancehall and a smooth vocalcadence reggae.151 NME describes the singer as a heady mix dancehall, reggae and R & B.152 Barry Walters of Rolling Stone described as A Girl Like Me album with lightweight dancehall and R &B.153 jams Kelefa Sanneh of The New York Times described her hit "Umbrella" as a sweet light pop with a heavy hip-hop rhythm in fondo.154
Her debut album featured production from pop veterans EvanRogers and Carl Sturken. Sturken and Rogers have collaborated with Rihanna many times, including his first single "Pon de Replay", which helped launch her career with the traditional pop and reggae....
